Gear List Calculator
I'm working on building a spreadsheet that has a list of all my gear, how much it weighs, and which gear lists each item belongs to so that I can sum up my weight and make gear checklists before trips.
Did anyone build a spreadsheet like this already?
Also, I was thinking it would be cool if this were a web service instead of a spreadsheet. This way you could just plunk in an item (like "warbonnet blackbrird SL 1.7") and it could tell you how many grams it is saving you the time of weighing each item (of course you could weight it to provide your specific item weight).

Hey dcardamo,
I use Gear Grams.
It is a great program to make gear lists. You need to weigh each item and put it in a master gear list. You can then make up different lists as needs change or for different hikes.

Geargrams so simple this caveman can do it.

Yup, I also use GearGrams and it's great. You can also search for others' gear item weights and save yourself the effort of weighing all your own stuff.

I dont know if anybody has mentioned it yet, but I use GearGrams

Couple of spreadsheets mentioned in this thread http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=58589, 'Spreadsheet to list items and calculate total pack weights', I think you'll find something useful there.

I built an xls spreadsheet that calculates weights and works well. I am adding to it and improving it all the time. I started a thread and attached the file but shortly after I posted it the entire thread was deleted, I tried again later on and the same thing happened. I must have broken some rule that I am unaware of that caused it to be deleted. I wish I knew which one. Lol, I am such a rebel. ;-)
I have used geargrams and a couple others but still like mine better.
Anyway, if anyone wants a copy just PM me and I will email you the file. It's free and so easy even an old caveman with A.D.D. can use it.
Also if someone knows why my previous threads were deleted it would make me very happy to know.
