Tarp pull outs
I have a Hennessey hex fly, I was trying to think of ways to pull the sides out to give me a bit more room. I was informed about magnets that can do it with strings attached to the outside magnet l, has anyone heard of this or have any other ideas? I would prefer not to sew into the tarp unless I really have no choice.

Google Grip Clips. I think Dutch might stock them.

JRB stocks grip clips.

That is a big help thank you. Have these grip clips caused any long term problems to the tarp?

There are a bunch of products like those that work well, I'm sure. I used to just use some wadded up grass or leaves rolled into a ball. Press it into the inside of the tarp and strangle it with a slip knot in guy line on the outside. Pretty fool proof and easy on the tarp. In winter when no grass or leaves are available, you can wad up a tissue or piece of paper and do the same thing. Less elegant, I suppose, but it always worked.

I have read some people that use the grip clips or Dutch's tarp pull outs have reported no damage. Haven't seen anyone talk of any issues.

I have used these -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017TFPTO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and these -https://tarpbuddy.com/?product=tarp-buddy-device
Neither seem to do any damage to the tarp.

A pebble (or any similar smooth object) works well. The advantage is you don't need to buy it or carry it and you can add tie outs to your tarp whenever and wherever you like.
This page shows how it works.

I never thought of using a pebble to hold the tie outs. Thank you for helping.
