you could contact hammock gear and i'm sure they would replace the whoopie sling if it hasn't been long since you bought it
The scissoring pressure applied will certainly shatter a bead. Seen it, done it.
Without pulling your whoopie apart, go with Shug and tie in a short shockcord stopper.
I’ve used small rubber washers in the build process and they perform nicely. And the small fishing split rings can be spun on easily and they are cheap. Check for sharp edges. Sand smooth if there are any.
I'd go with Phantom's suggestion of a nail knot, or you could use an alpine butterfly. You're not going to suck those thru the bury!
I would continue to use them as is. The bead isn't necessary and with a little bit of awareness pulling the sling into the bury won't be an issue. I used them, along with many others I've hung with and some of them still do, long enough to realize the bead is more of a solution looking for a problem that the other way around.
Titanium beads!!!!!
I didn't hear anything ,just woke the next morning and while packing everything noticed one was missing the bead and looked at the other one ;same thing.
I use Shugs method- workes well! Also sometimes you can salvage and reuse the whoopie- it's possible to gently work the whoopie loop out of the bury- it just takes a while
When you start making your own :) note that some craft/sewing supply stores sell a plastic container - a lifetime supply of wooded beads of all sizes. The wood has a nicer visual/feel/longevity than plastic. The size varies from pea to small marble.
