New Trail Lair
I ordered a new 11' hammock from Jared for my backpacking trips. I wanted it lightweight but also modular for all season camping. After canvassing the forum for some fabric opinions, I chose to go with the 1.2 MTN XL cut down to a finished width of 62". Very happy with the finished product, weight and the comfortable lay. He had it done and shipped in under a week despite the special order fabric. Some pics below from my back yard test hang. Looking forward to using this out on the trail.

Beautiful! What’s the finished weight?

Thanks. It’s a tick over 16oz with the windshield removed. And ~20oz with it zipped in for winter mode. I know some of the ultralight fabrics or netless could have gotten me lighter, but I like the added durability of the MTN material and the convenience of the integrated bug net.

Nice purchase! I love the orange stitching.
If I can see right in the pics, it looks like you got the gear pouch and head end shelf? I love that shelf... well and the hammock in general

Thanks - the orange thread does seem to contrast well with the olive nylon. No gear pouch, but I did get Jared to make me a detachable peak shelf for the head end. That’s included in the 16oz weight. My pillow was laying in the hammock so that might look like a gear bag.

That looks great, Andy! I really like the colors and the weight. I am looking forward to checking it out in person.

Great looking hammock! I recently ordered a couple of Trail Lairs to replace some older hammocks. You are definitely going to enjoy your new hammock!
