Here is my second attempt at a Top Quilt. This time using two layers of 5oz/sqyrd.
This is what 8yrds of 5oz Climashield looks like.
This is one layer of the insulation
This is two layers.
Using Momentum 90 again for the outside fabric. Should be putting the finishing touches on it tonight.
Trying a different method for sewing this together.
Top is 2 sheets of wrong side out Momentum 90.
Then the two layers of Climashield.
I then hand sew a loose thread spaced about .5" apart to hold the fabric and insulation together. Climashield tended to pull when run through the machinewithout doing this.
I sew all three edges, then all but about 12" of the last end. Then turn the whole thing inside out. This left a pretty good seam around the end, and the right side facing out with insulation in the middle. All I have to do tonight is finish the footbox draw cord, and sew on some ties.
Finished dimensions are 70"x 48". Weight TBD.
