I have always loved the outdoors and camping, but hated the many nights of waking numerous times due to the inevitable stick or rock digging into my shoulders or back at 2am. As a cub scout den leader, I knew I was going to have to take my scouts camping a couple of times this year with the boy scouts as part of their requirements for crossing over, so I started looking at some hammock tents as an alternative.
I had been debating getting a hammock for some time now, and finally picked up a Hennessy Hammock Explorer Ultralite last week and did some backyard camping with my son over the weekend. Other than the dreaded cold butt syndrome, which forced me to go in the house and find my heavy fleece blanket to lay on, I was extremely comfortable. We'll be buying my son one next month for our scouting campout in October.
In the meantime, I'm going to have to figure out if I'm going to order the insulation system from HH or have my wife try to sew me up a couple of under quilts like the http://www.tothewoods.net/RedRiverGo...orgeQuilt.html
