    Backyard hanging, finally!

My backyard is a mess. I have a few trees, but none close enough to hang from...until now!
It's just a couple 8ft 2x4's bolted together and opened slightly. I put a strap around the fence post, run it over the cross section made by the 2x4's.
With weight in the hammock, it's extremely stable. Now I don't have to worry about a bulky stand, just a couple pieces of wood to keep in the shed. So far, so good. (That's a Yukon outfitters double in the pic if anyone was wondering.)

Truth. I was taking advantage of this polar vortex and playing around with this rig. When the fall finally gets here, I'll be able to head to the backyard for some "gear testing" instead of having to leave my wife with all the kiddos.

This falls into the 'why didn't I think of that' column...going to borrow your idea to use between two vehciles. Son's go car camping / fishing with friends quite a bit and where they go doesn't always have convenient trees. With this they can put their trucks back to back and strap off a hitch and hang side-by-side under a single (large) tarp. Quick and easy to transport on the roof rack and easy to break down. Can even strap up using the front bumper tow hooks ...the possibilities...great idea and thanks for posting it.
