MI>2014 MI Fall Hang & Chili Festival Oct 10-13, 2014

Just bought a Ridgerunner DL. Taking it out in Missouri for five days next week but will be back up in Michigan and should be available for this Hang. Considering how cold it was last winter (my first winter in Michigan) and how new I am to hammock camping and how low my budget is after this purchase, about how cold does it get in Oct? I figure that a basic wally world pad should suffice for insulation and worse case scenario I can sleep in my Military Modular Sleep System. Just want to be prepared.

We sure hope you can make it..this is such a great hang...lots of food and absolutely great people!! October can go either way here in MI...I would say on average its usually in the mid to upper 60's and lows can get as low as the 30's at night. As the hang gets closer forecasts will be posted on this thread so everyone can come prepared.

Aww man, y'all are killing me.

The weekend after offers Lobster and Lighthouses in NH.

Weighing 'lobster and lighthouses' versus 'chili and seeing y'all again'....sigh!

Gotta figure out how to be more retired than I am and still keep the boss happy and the money flowing!

I know....a two week road trip...

Just want to give a shout out to Boulderv7 and his lovely wife for taking the raffle over. I understand they have received quite a few items from our generous vendors on HF. This will make for a GREAT raffle!!!!

Thanks Paul...The vendors here truly deserve all the credit though....they are hardworking and generous!

We are looking to have a great event and an awesome raffle. It is tearing at my heartstrings that the first thing made of cuben fiber ever shipped to my house will end up in someone else's gear collection!
