Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
I am going to try to make this too .. Just emailed to possibly change my October vacation. Would love to get in on the chili making. I make a Texas Chili that has to be simmered for 3 hours and set in a fridge overnight but .. I could make it up beforehand and warm it up over a fire ... I guess that would be cheating though.... I'll experiment ... and see ... or I can just start making it when I get there....

Nothing wrong with made ahead chili......I always like day old better
