    Panel pulls

Below is a post from another thread. I did not order panel pulls on my Superfly. I guess there are pros and cons on panel pulls.

The panel pulls are absolutely necessary on a tarp as big as the mambajamba. Brandon told me this, but it's not on the website. I'm very glad I ordered them, but be warned... they leak and need to be seam sealed. The tarp itself pulled through some VERY nasty weather which I fully expected to destroy it........

That was my post, and from Brandon's response, it sounds like he might start seam-sealing them before he sends them out. We'll just have to wait and see what he decides to do.

That tarp is gigantic, and it would have been all over my hammock if I hadn't tied out the panel pulls.

The panel pulls are very handy for giving you extra room under a tarp and to keep the tarp from coming in contact with your hammock setup. If you didn't get panel pulls on your tarp, don't fret. There are always Grip Clips.

Panel pulls are an absolutely wonderful thing when the wind and rain are going! The panels are just plain big and it gives the wind a huge surface to push against. When the sil gets wet and the panel is being pushed inward, you can pretty much count on your hammock and/or quilts getting wet over the course of the night. I strongly encourage panel tie-outs on big paneled tarps.

The Grip Clips headchange4u mentioned got me through some pretty rough nights. They are marvelous little doo-hickies. Just be sure to use a balloon to secure them in place, otherwise your tarp will be scared from them sliding around if they aren't staked ideally.
