Something else I want to try is a small taper on the end cut - maybe 8" or less off one side. I think for the next model (or the next +1) I'll use 1.9 oz. ripstop or even 1.5 oz.

I was also wondering the other day that if instead of folding the end (as in the original), what if I just cut the taper in the ends? This would no doubt require that the side UCR and/or bungee be installed, but much of that area of the fabric seems floppy anyway so I wonder if it's even needed??

Very interesting, I think I am going to have to try making one for myself. Thank you for sharing.
