HF member Wolverine and I are hitting the trail and heading up to enjoy Northern Michigan in its fall glory the weekend of Nov 1-3. Here's the plan: Leaving from the Detroit area Friday afternoon and arriving at Alcona Park ( http://www.alconapark.com/ ) sometime after 3:00 PM. Car camping at one of the East Side Primitive Sites along the pond. I've been assured that the pine trees are great for hanging.
Saturday morning we'll regroup and head up to Hoist Lakes and most likely park at the east side trailhead. Destination is Bryon Lake for the night, then hike out sometime Sunday for the return trip home.
All are welcome! It's spur of the moment, but it's always great to get out and enjoy the fall weather.
