Is it something that is typically possible at any point or are we going to be hoping for a ride to come along and give eight guys a ride to the top. If we can get a ride we were planning on going on to Hogpen to end this trip instead of Neels Gap. Any itel would be greatly appreciated

We parked at the Springer trail head; there's public parking available there. As far as our shuttle went, that was due to a (sort of) pre-planned shuttle with the guy who initially put this trip together, louisfb. I'm sure that if you contacted one of the local outfitters in the area, they could hook you up with a shuttle for some cash. The ATC site also has a list of shuttlers by state. Note that right now is not quite season; some of them may not be operating yet.

    Hope it helps!

I have the cheap $40 Wally World hiking poles too. Thinking of leaving them home on the next Florida trip. They saved my backside a few times in the Gorge, though. See ya in a couple weeks at FH4! I'll try and remember your Café Bustelo too!
    Thanks!

I may do that, but I can only get so many weekends off this year. I'm going to be trying for my first full marathon this fall; I may or may not wind up doing that on a weekend. If I don't, yep, I think that Gorge trip might be in order. Keep me informed!

Great Report Rider. Looks like a lot of fun.

Thank you! Give it a go; it's certainly worth it. Those mountains don't disappoint.
