VIDEO: One ring buckle/ SMC line locker Suspension.

I can't stop playing with this line locker suspension. I just find it simple and solid.

    Good luck,

Thanks Smokebait, the old saying of there's more than one way to skin a cat definitely applies to hammocks.
    Good luck,

    Very Cool

Very cool, I like it. My only concern is a major rain storm. Is the ring going to stop the water from coming down the strap and around the ring into the hammock?

My guess is yes. I hung from a similar affair easily for two years and never had a problem. the ring acted as a drip ring. I would imagine this would be the same so long as it was kept under the tarp.

I'm not a webbing suspension guy, but I like the looks of this. I wonder how strong the toggle needs to be for safety.

I'm not sure. I may try an arrow shaft toggle just to see if it will crush, but I'm thinking a solid toggle is the way to go. I also haven't yet tried a trail stick to see how that holds up. Wish I had trees in my yard, it would be easier to test this stuff.

    Very nice, Red.
    Always the tinkerer!
Now to get some smc rings.
I wonder if you could get away w'o the ring, and just cinch your webbing and toggle into the chainlink /continous loop instead????

Well you know my motto: if it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is.
I can't leave anything well enough alone.

I dont know if it would work w/o a solid ring. One way to find out I guess.

    ahh, that's my huckleberry...

I was thinking the webbing may crumple a little, but it should still bite. It can't be any more crumpled than w/ a whoopie sling set on the knot.
