Complete Modification of the BMBH UL

I really dig this hammock so much that I did a complete modification of it just like Professor Hammock in this video.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UL...yer_detailpage

I never have liked a zipped up complete bug net as sometimes I just don't use a bug net. And so I use a partial draped over half my body and RL that weighs in at 3 oz.

With the rings cut off, bug net wacked off, the webbing, everything replaced just like in the video with the exception of the RL still on it, 6' whoopies with Nano 23 Beiners, 2 dutch lites, and a small prussic with a very small biener on each end for either gear to hang off total weight of hammock came in at 15.5 oz. This is now very packable using my hiking poles for the spreader bars. And I absolutely love it. And it packs up into a Zpacks Cuben bishop bag now, including ground cloth piece of plastic, tree straps, extra piece of amsteel, and amsteel tree strap extensions making total pack weight at 24.2 oz. As Professor Hammock said in his video,,warantee is now null and void,,but I love this mod.

With the wife working all weekend and today,,I am also working on a winter drape over SEEP style topsock out of Momentum. I have no machine and so far have sewn on it about 15hrs and just about complete. When done will post a video on it and everything done.

about 3 hrs on the mods, incuding cutting the bug net off,,hardest part was retying the loops for the spreader bars and getting them perfect to keep the slop out of the ends of the hammock. Double fisherman's knot. I had the 2 sizes of tubing in the garage and didn't have to go out and buy them either. this includes splicing all the 7/64 amsteel and making your buryies as well. I was surprised at the weight savings myself. I slept in it last nite and everything was absolutely perfect!!! I am waiting on a item to come in and will make a video on major additions to this setup showing everything.

Waiting on 2Q&ZQ to send a UQP for the bridge hammock they are putting together,,then will put a home made SEEP type top cover with it for a 2 piece setup. Top will be made out of Momentum 90 Mr,,which is DWR finished...and modified bug net..everything will be hooked up with new Dutch Quilt clips which weigh nothing but are versital as all get out..love those Dutch products.
