I'm all about helping out.
I just got back.
From parking lot 2 the trail is pretty good and the path is clear all the way to the west fork trail intersection. The dry creek right at the intersection crossing is a little steep and really the only obstacle but it's not bad at all.
FS RD 211 is gated so that won't be a option for a water cache and all the creeks are dry so we all need extra water to pack in and to cache at the cars. There is heavy vegetation everywhere off the trails but around the camp site is not too bad, but under foot it's tricky everywhere. Tons of logs sticks and uneven ground everywhere off the trail. With all the dead/dry vegetation everywhere," I would not attempt a camp fire". I found a location right before the camp site that is a little clearer and will post pic and gps location tonight after I download my pics. Even the trail intercetion will work by the creek, (dry) but there wont be too much of a breeze anywhere. Everyone might want to bring there longer tree straps because a lot of the pines are pretty big.
This will not be easy but it should be fun.
Ok here we go.
The trail is marked pretty well
And on the trail its pretty easy going
The next pics is of what im calling "camp 2"
Th original location looks pretty much the same as this location
GPS CORDS N 30*30.568 W 095*45.732
This is the dry creek crossing i mentioned in the previous post and is alittle steep but not too bad.

Looks great, thanks for doing that for us. Camp 2 looks to be in the saddle between the two "peaks" near the intersetion, right where the intermittent stream is shown on the Base Camp Map. Should be pretty easy to find.
Can it be seen from the trail?

Hammock Campers,
I'm meeting at FM 149 & FM 1375 at 8am, then drive up FM 149 to Bethel Rd(FS 211), down to FS 231, and passing by Parking Lot #2 around 8:15AM. I drive a gold Ford Escape.
Looks like it's going to be a great time. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to bail out on this one. Turns out I have a project at work I need to get done this weekend. I'll be at my desk most of the weekend.
Sorry ...
