    Drought Conditions

There has been a lot of talk on the forum lately concerning the dry dangerous conditions. Fire hazard is only one risk, there are tons more: limbs falling from normally healthy trees, trees falling, low water resources, and along with little rain come extremely high temps and heat exhaustion. I found this interesting and thought I would share.

    US Drought Monitor. http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/
(I think I got the link correct, if not just search for US Drought Monitor.)
    It was updated today (07/19/2012)
    Edit: it was updated 07/17/2012
Be careful out there and happy hanging.

Wow... Didn't realize that much of the USA was in drought... Sad...

It's getting really bad around here! We were fortunate to get some thunderstorms and a good 4-hour soaking with 1-2" this morning however. Too little, too late but nice to have some relief.

Edit: I've been wondering about some small fallen limbs from trees in my back yard. I always figured it was from squirrels or something since it looks like something chewed them off, but I guess not. It doesn't seem possible they could just shed themselves like that though. I'm finding quite a bit everyday after work this year.

Trees will shed healthy limbs in order to conserve water. There was an article posted a few days ago about this. Not squirrels
