Just got back from my first trip with the new setup. Cumberland Island is magical in itself, but stealth hanging in some of these locations was just amazing. Got a sunrise view overlooking the dunes and beach on one morning.
The first night's setup. Poured and the ProFly kept me dry, which I was not optimistic about after reading reviews.
Another view of the same setup. Just ran some shock cord underneath the tarp ridgeline to clip my "misc" bag to for the night.
The communal hammock tarp we used for the other two who didn't have rainflys and also to cook and hang out in during the downpours.
Probably my favorite hang of the trip. Tucked into the trees overlooking the dunes and beach.
Hiked west to the marsh/intracoastal waterway side and took a nice hammock break.
Not hammock pics, but had to show y'all a little bit of what the island has to offer!
I was very excited to test the new suspension system and tarp, and everything worked great. Definitely a good beginner setup. I'm now going to shift my focus to ultralight, first with a cuben tarp, then UL hammock. Still can't decide whether to risk sewing my own tarp or just be safe and buy one online. Anyway, hope y'all enjoyed the pics, and definitely check Cumberland out if you're ever down this way!
