Triangle thingys, another option
I was looking into some triangle thingys for my UQ. Since I have an open hammock I thought maybe this would work instead. I tied two prusik knots on my ridge line and attached small d-rings to run my UQ suspension through.
Maybe I should have used my wife's green hammock for the pics, but I think you can still see what i did with the black hammock against the black shock cord.

That does sound like an easy solution to making triangle thingies aka hammock thongs.

That will certainly accomplish what the triangle thingies do. Eliminates the side to side movement too. Good thinking. Now if it only worked with bug net.
I'd say that triangle thingies would be more of a hammock "G-string" that a hammock "thong". Its a subtle distinction
