no one is going to be on the pct this year
It may be a dry year so plan accordingly. Information from the following link seemed helpful.

You have to remember that the far majority of folks here on HF are on the eastern side of the country. You will see a lot more posted about hiking the AT than you will on any trail in the west. We just don't have near the number of folks out this way that are members.
LD is correct it's looking like it will be a dry year so plan well what you will be doing for water in the south half of the trail.
I would love a week on the trail but this year is shaping up to be pretty busy. Have a great time.

I'm up in Alaska right now and I'll be flying down sometime in march and will start a couple of days befor the kick off party I should be in campo on the 25 of April. Im from los angeles n do have family if some does need a place to stay befor they start who is from the east coast they are more welcome to crash
I do have the 2 litter dromlight water bag, I'm not sure if that will be enough in-between water crossings
Wow. It is a huge dream of mine to hike the PCT. Sadly with two young kids I don't think I'll have the opportunity for many years. She's an understanding woman though, so I think I will get the chance
Good luck on your venture!
When it seems like the night will last forever
And there's nothing left to do but count the years
When the strings of my heart start to sever
And stones fall from my eyes instead of tears
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And dream me a dream of my own

Ditto, not sure when I will be on it, but if I am on it, I will try and contact in some way or another.
Are you going to be keeping a trail journal, or leaving some way to contact when in the trail towns. Then again by the time you get to the Washington section it may be too late for me to get out that way....school teacher and all ya know.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.
It looks like you're going on a good year, with below average snow. That means less water though.
I wish I could make it out there...
I hiked the PCT in 2010, if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to hit me up.
