    flying_bobo, I'm a maybe, noob

I've been waiting for a hang close enough that I could participate in! I have plenty of hangs in the back yard experimenting! LOL I’ve only been on one bona fide backcountry backpacking journey and that was with two little guys who were even less experienced than me, heheheheh!

I’ve been farting around with my HHSS and some old, Kmart /Wal-Mart camping gear.
If all else fails I could get in car and sleep!

My off days are always in the middle of the week but I am putting in for a schedule change today and asking (begging :0) the wife’s permission tonight. If his work/school schedule permits I might bring my son with. So i'm a solid maybe for now
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speek kindly and leave the rest to God!

I am a maybe for the trip

I am new to the forum, but just joined so I could go to this hang. I have a wife and a buddy who might be joining me. We hope to get our schedules all worked out so we can go.

Quick question, do we have to reserve sites or does the planner of the hang get enough sites for all who sign up on the forum. How does the logistics work? I am sure we will be the only group of campsites in the park that weekend.

I live in Ludington and if necessary (which I dont think it is) I will get the reservations. But I think it is self pay/register for the winter months, will confirm. Logistics, I would think are just show up. Will try to post more information later.

Here is the latest info I could get.....

The East Loop of the Cedars Camp will be open for winter camping. It is self pay/register. For those who live out of state, you will need a Recreation Passport on your car (Can be purchased at camp office during normal business hours)
They usually plow out 10-15 sites for RV's. The also have tent only (No RV's) sites in the area.
There is Electricty available in sites (Not in tent only).
Cost $16/site/day up to 4 people per site.

Only a vault toliet will be available, water is available on the North side of the bathroom building.

The Jackpine walk in camp will be open as well.

    Hope that answers some questions.

Put me down as IN, I can't imagine a scenario where they wouldn't let me out of work for that weekend. If they need me that bad, they're not paying me enough!
Put my experience level down as "not likely to die in the night" or "a few winter trips."
    Good luck,
