    Question snake skins

I have seen a number of hangers using snake skins to pack their hammocks and tarps. Are these a DIY item or can they be purchased? If they are DIY can anyone share that process with me? Thanks

Another option if you're going to DIY is to build what I call "Pythons". Instead of two separate skins that come together, you make one long tube that covers your whole hammock. That pretty much is just a tube with strings at the end and was my first DIY project. Very easy.

You can see what I'm talking about in my videos, but if you want more info, let me know and I'll try to point you in a direction.

If you want to buy them, Mountain Goat, and Wilderness Logics make ones out of netting. Hennessy Hammocks sells the nylon ones.

For one of my first DIY projects, I made snake skins out of an old tent tarp.
