I'm good with either dates. There is one "backcountry" site at the SP, but I dont think it will be open.

What I was told, by SP staff, is that one of the loops will be open for camping and a rustic toliet will be available.(No heat, sorry Patrick).
Its a proven fact that 78.4% of all statstics are made up on the spot.

Hey Rich, have you looked at the loop? Last time I was there, none of the loops really looked that good for hanging. Pretty open sites for rvs.

I've been thru the park quite a few times in the winter. I dont think anyone uses the campground for anything more than a dayhike/snowshoe/x-country ski adventure/parking spot during the cold months.

I cannot recall ever seeing anyone actually camping after deer hunting season is done.

So, my thoughts/answer DblC's question, If we wander some from the "designated" site, I doubt we would ruffle any feathers. If anybody even checks on us??
The way I see it, anybody wacky enough to hang between two trees in the dead of winter in Michigan...Don't mess with them, they are muy loco
    my .02 peso's.

Maybe Stone can enlighten us with more info?

Lerms and I were there in early spring and with a little work managed to find three hang spots in one site in a matter of minutes. I think that they open up the Cedars Loop in the winter, I will confirm that with the staff at the SP. I will get out there this week to report of the hang opportunities.

No matter the stiuation, I'm sure that we will bea able to find plenty of good spots.
