Now there is snow in the forecast!
Definitely need a head count. I can have a suburban delivered to the end of the trail over the weekend.
High single digits is just cold enough to be annoying! If it above 10, I can get by with just my peapod and my 1/4" pad. Below that, I need to think about an extra layer underneath.
I wish I knew what altitude that intellicast is for. RHK is above 6k, and Overmountain is at 4550. If we are staying at Overmountain Saturday, we'll probably be closer to 10 than 0.
That drop in temperature also means a bump up in pack weight/size.
Can we hitch a ride from the parking area near Overmountain back to Carvers from anyone? If so looks like a night hike in for us to RHK. Single digits you say. Finally some winter on the palate.

Since we're stuck looking at a LATE friday arrival we will hike in any direction out to a car that can get us back to Carvers And of course we will offer up gas money.
