Echo what Rev said. On most occasions I get by with the short-ish tree straps. On night when I camped on the BC coast I used almost all of a 25' length of seatbelt webbing around one tree. I use 6' whoopies. I carry a little bit of extra line in case I happen to get really spread out trees, but haven't used it yet.
I have 7' huggers, and I about max one of them out on a sycamore I hang from at home. I'd be more worried about the strap length than the sling.
What are you going to be using your hammock and tarp for? Backpacking? canoeing, car camping? Unless you are an ultralight backpacker, you may find the micro a little small IMO. It's just nice to have a little more tarp in case you are stuck is a real downpour and have to cook or do other stuff under it.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
