ldcakes, your barbecue pork was the best!! Finger lickin' good! Did not really need sauce. If there is any way.....
If you drive down, just be careful to look out for pot holes. I think they are still looking for you.

That is very sweet of you Gumbo, I may have to look into that but I don't think they would let me fly with 6 lbs of smoked meat!
Thank You Ed, That was Hickory Smoked Beef Brisket and smoking that back here in Tn. when it was 20 degrees took soooome doing! Glad you liked it!
Yep, Those pot holes were out to get me for sure!

The icing on the cake was definately ldcakes' cooking! Man oh man! Now everytime I see a dutch oven my mouth starts watering! On another note, I hope this year everyone is prepared for the temperatures! We must have lost 10-15 people Saturday night, not mentioning the ones who slept in their cars. We can't have that happen again, Shug and the rest of the Gorge Rats will be laughing their butts off at us!
Nobody's laughing at all, Everyone is very happy to see the Florida Hangers coming together. All you guy's need is one of those $10.00 blue waffely looking pads from Walmart to slide in between the layers of a double hammock and a decent sleeping bag or over quilt rated 30 degrees or less and you'll be fine. It was 20 degrees last year but only in the weeee hours of the night! But of course Adam & Jen would love it if you gave them a call at Hammock Gear! Betcha they'll have a sale at Christmas!

I AM SOOOOOOO DOWN FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been kicking myself in the a$$ because I missed out on the 1st hang and I'm preping for it now....Ive got one other comin with me from Jax and I have 2 extra jump seats in my Ranger that are open to anyone who wants to squeeze in there
Are we there yet?
Well, I'll definitely be going. I may not make it until Sunday morning, but I'll be there!
I'm still up in the air as to whether I'm going to take the car or not. If I bike down, how is the surfacing on the forest roads leading to the lake? The rest of it has a bike lane; I've been down to Ocala before, just not to Buck Lake via road.
Hedgehogs! Why can't they just share the hedge?

"Vada a Bordo, Cazzo!"
So, like pretty much every other dirt road in Florida ?
"Is it well-packed, and are there largish potholes?" is pretty much what I'm asking. If it's just washboard, well, that's not too bad; I can do washboard for a mile or two without trouble. Sugar sand, on the other hand, is not fun at all if I'm carrying a load. Nor are potholes.
If I have to walk the bike for a mile at the end, that isn't too bad either. From the sound of it, the main road in is pretty good, but the turnoff isn't particularly nice.
Thanks for the info.
