Tools falling into place. Thanks guys. We are going to have just so much woods and so many little cook fires going near the big one, I just want to make sure we a ready to make the best of over a "court" of fire wood.

Also--hikers--start thinking of a good location for our post hang weekender hike. Last year's in Withalacoochee was a good time, and I would like to get right onto setting up this years hike-n-hang asap. Just food for thought. Getting psyched though!

The Weather Channel's 10-day forecast is out for Friday 13, day 1 of our hang.
65 hi, 45 lo. 10% chance of rain. Nice weather!

Hey,

Just wanting to give a small update on my status of hiking 148 miles from the north. I am around 30 miles into the trip and having a blast! I'm bringing one extra person with me. ty ty

Let me tell you guys about this morning...woke up to a very still forest morning and 18 'f.Talk about a cold Florida boy.I did learn that not everything you pack should be carried 148 miles! Lets say that I dropped off about 10 pounds of gear at a emergency resupply drop from my very patient wife.

might not be a next update...dont know when ill get on a pc again.

wish me luck
btw, I will have pics on the trip report thread.

We are really excited to be attending this event. Hope my 9 year old backpacking son will have some other boys to hang with. I'm thinking about driving up from Sarasota on Thursday, but I can't really find good directions on how to get there, especially if it is dark when I get there. Don't have GPS, any suggestions?
