Hi All,
New to hammock camping, although a long-time lightweight camper. Just purchased a WB Blackbird and Mamajamba tarp and took it camping for the past week in the Craig Lake area near Michagamme. While I was there the overnight low was down in the 20's F. I was using a 25 degree poly bag with a themarest between the layers of the DB hammock. I won't say I was toasty, but I will say that I have slept colder in the same bag on the same pad in a tent. As for comfort, well, it was no contest. After 6 nights, I am a convert to hammock camping whenever conditions allow. I sure it will only get better as I tweak the insulation systems.
