I love my AHE pillow. It feels just right for me.

I recently forgot my pillow so I used a medium dry sac inside a jumper. I thought the air in the sac would leak out for sure but it held all night without issue. Probably not the most comfortable but it felt much better than the jumper on it's own.

No pillow for me, I tried to use one and it props my head up too far.

I can't remember where I read this idea but it's great. I bought a cheapo set of arm floaties (like kids use in the pool) on clearance at walmart last year. they were $1.00. they have an inch-or-so wide "welded" space and two separate air chambers. I cut it open on that welded space and the pillow works great. when laying flat the seam between the two chambers cradles the back of my head. when in a hammock it works the same way but I can partially deflate one chamber to make up for the hammock "bottom" fabric that comes up the right side of my head.

The only thing I'd like to change is to make a fleece pillowcase for it.

    try it!

I use my shoes with my pants wrapped around them. Not comfortable at all.

I'm using an elite prototype 900 fill luxury down pillow from Black Rock Gear designed specifically for hammocks. unfortunately he's been told by the powers that be that he's not welcome here anymore. sad. i don't want to post any pictures here and be in violation of some crap red tape.

Those using down pillows, do you find they compress to nothing?

I read on this forum somewhere that somebody was using one of those neck pillows filled with foam beads or whatever it is. I'm going to try one tonight and see how it goes, it should stay on my neck all night and not prop my head up too high. It would be interesting to see one of those in down, might have to see if Stormcrow wants to make a prototype!

I keep coming back to my Wiggy pillow. He sent it along with my bag years ago and it still lofts and compresses very well. Generally it ends up under my right side, but I'll not give it up.
