Good points there bonsiahiker. Great video too. I thought I was the only one that used that Thermarest pillow. Folks give me the business over its bulk and weight but I always carry it and sleep all so well.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
It's an amazing pillow, and I like the fact that it recycles the cores from the sleep pads. I got that back when I slept on the ground (shudder...). I have to have a good pillow or I can get severe headaches. This one (a medium, I think), though, is a bit large for the hammock. I'd like to figure out something thinner but still able to mold to my neck and offer insulation to my head....

Thought I'd bump this thread for anyone for whom this year will be their first Mt Rogers Winter Hang. I'm still hoping to be able to come, but my setup may be a bit different this year.

Thanks for the replay.
Just the thing to see when planing a winter hang for the first time.
What is the bugnet condensation issue ?
Have heard about this but have been lucky, not had a problem.
Use fleece TQ when vancamping; TQ with multi-variable IX layers+ripstop when backpacking both in WBBB.
Will a fleece square absorb the moisture around the face ( a la Shug )?
