JoAnn's fabrics sometimes carry. My local Lowes cares it although not usually in a small enough size to be of much use for hammock gear. You also might want to try hardware stores.

REI and the local sporting goods stores sell it here. I think most places that carry climbing gear will have webbing and shock cord. At least I regularly to see it together.

I've found it at the aptly named ****'s Sporting Goods with tent repair kits.
I think I've also seen it sold at WalMart and Target...both as tent pole repair kits...though the quality could be suspect.
Army/Navy surplus stores are mother lodes of all kinds of good stuff, including sc. The one I go to in Tulsa has cordage, webbing, buckles, zippers, material....

Is polypro shock cord the way to go? OWF has the option between nylon and polypro.
