Respect the rules of the forum guys and gals. No religion or politics.
My point of the thread was the rather odd coincidence of hammock talk at church.
Keep it in line, without bending the rules. I knew starting the thread that it very close to the edge for Forum chatter.
Mods, if need be, move or remove this thread.

I know we do have someone on here named 'Preacha man' from NW Arkansas.
My very first exposure to backpacking was when I was 12 yrs. old at a Christian summer camp in Rosman NC.
While we stayed in small cabins in the woods, there was a backpacking class you could elect to take.
I was absolutely mesmerized at the backpack and contents the instructor had, I knew then that I wanted to backpack.
I do not remember the instructors name, but I would love to tell him how much he influenced my life from that point on, and it wasn't just the backpacking, but the casual way in which he got us to think about the more important issues in life.
I have always wanted to go back to that place, it was the coolest place I had ever seen at that time in my life. Also the first time I ever floated on a tube in a creek, or saw a waterfall.

I like to go solo - off trail - immerse myself in the area - explore - eat really well - and make it back home.
It's kinda funny though that a thread about Crocs foot wear, became more contentious than a thread that turned into one about religion .
Yep, it is a bit of a tightrope walk, but the rules are there for a reason.
