hey there Hooch--
I got meself one of those same MG kilts, sported it on the hike into to the Hoosier hang a couple of weeks ago. You'll have to view the first minute or so of bonsaihiker's first video to see me hairy legs poking out from the kilt. I quite liked the air circulation, but aren't so Scotch as to want to go commando. Got Underarmor compression boxers to keep chaffing at bay.
Deals with the "what do you sleep in" question pretty easily to, easy on the neighbors, easy on gargoyle's imagination.

Are you serious? News flash........this ain't Scotland! If you must wear a skirt, I mean "kilt", at least wear some makeup with it! LOL
Gentlemen: I would remind you that we live in rattlesnake country, and such snakes are "quick strikers," rather than slow strikers, such as the cobra. In Scotland, the Adder is the only poisonous snake, and they prefer to slither away. It is my belief, based on a mental image I frankly don't like, that kilts were not meant in quick strike territory...
I just crash in the kilt. It rides up a bit (and the blue ribbon fluttering in the wind wakes me up on breezy nights) but everything falls back in place when you roll out the next AM. But, if I'm sweaty from the day, I'll change out of it so it can dry a bit.
I would contend that kilts are entirely appropriate in "quick strike territory". They will hear you coming from a mile away with zippers so kilts are much more stealthy. And it's easier to run with your kilt up than your pants down.
Just a bit of levity
This isn't Scotland, but there are more Scots on this side of the pond.
I don't crash in mine because I don't want it crush the pleats... besides, it's too much to wear at night!
