    binding ends of a hammock

I want to shorten a hammock that I already have, but would rather not cut it just yet. Can I gather and whip together the fabric on the ends, and if so, how? Depending on how well that works, I could just leave it like that if the length is good, but plan is to eventually modify the hammock to desired length using channels and loops like it has now.

Not sure if this might be helpful because it might be outdated, but here's what the algorithm came up with:

Yes, helpful, and I’ll probably go with the knot method for now.

Oh yeah, you can always place a whipping knot after carefully W folding the hammock where you want it, than lark’s head a CL below the whipping. It’s a great way to test what length of hammock suits you best before permanently deciding.

You can always use a big tiewrap / zip tie. Its a non destructive way to experiment with hammock length. Once you figure out what you want, you can do a permenant whip
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.
