AT hike & hammocking Glencliff to Gorham NH

This summer I’m planning on section hiking the Whites from Glencliff north to Gorham NH. I will be hammocking as much as possible. Planning on hiking about 10 miles a day. Given the elevations and tree lines up there how difficult will hammocking be? I’m not against hitting an AMC shelter occasionally but would really prefer to hammock. BTW, how bad are the bugs in Late July?

I am not sure what the bugs will be like in the higher elevations in the Whites, but I would plan on bugs. The bugs are out in full force here in Maine in July.
As for Hammocking. As long as you not above tree line you should be able to find spots.
    The AMC Huts require reservations.
