    Best bang for your buck

Loking to upgrade from my 35 degree Alps Mountaineering TQ and my Amazon Geertop UQ (About 40 degrees) with something in the 20-ish degree range.

I've been looking at Hang Tight's TQ and UQ sets. The pricing seems pretty good. Is there anywhere else I should be looking in the $200-300 range for the set?

My opinion is that the best budget quilts in the market are Hammock Gear’s quilts WHEN they are running their 25% or 30% sales, which is often. Probably more expensive than what you want to spend but I’d get one now and the other later if I was in your shoes.

The Hammock Gear quilts are well made and perform at their ratings (for me). YMMV based on if you are a cold or hot sleeper.

    Good luck!

Unless you opt for synthetic insulation, it's doubtful you'll find anything that's in your price range other than Hang Tight. Even then, I don't think you're going to find much available for $300 for both TQ and UQ. For example, Enlightened Equipment's APEX offering has a $250 TQ but no UQ. Arrowhead Equipment is more affordable, with their APEX UQ Jarbridge UQ costing ~$115 and White Cloud TQ being ~$160. I own one of their APEX underquilts for a bridge hammock, and it's well made and usable down to it's rated temps.

HG still has their 30% sale...but those prices for the combo sets are pretty compelling. If those temps are comfort rated, then those are some really low priced quilts.

Another vote for Hammock Gear, and the 30% off sale is still on. I'm not familiar with Hang Tight, but...

I recommend hammock gear as well. Quality products and they stand by them. Especially with the 30% off. Can’t beat that. I am not familiar with the other brands.
