If anyone is in the Cherokee, NC area, we could really use your help. Our favorite hike used to end with a shuttle ride. That shuttle from cherokee transit no longer runs on 441. Uber/Lyft will be no help, even if there is a driver in town I wont have signal to actually use the apps, and they dont allow for future scheduling. I'm willing to pay someone to give some fellow hangers a ride
"A walk in the woods" shuttle wants $122 to bring us 13 miles.... i think because they are based in gatlinburg its more mileage for them.
Our other option is hitching a ride, but we were a bit worried this is early in the season for much traffic in the park. We wouldnt mind waiting hours, but theres also a risk of road closure if it snows with the chill coming next week.
our hike:

3/7 wednesday night smokemont
3/8 thursday night, site #49, hopefully find ride down friday afternoon
3/9 friday night smokemont again
backup plan is hike back down, saturday night at backcountry site again, which would mean a late start to our day of driving on saturday, but we will do what we need to do.
this whole linear hike came about because we like high elevation hikes, which are few and far between to include a backcountry campsite. No way we are sleeping in a shelter. Dont get me started on that set of rules!
