Bought this in 2016 and other than setting it up once in the yard to check it out I haven’t used it. Instead I use a Dutchware netless hammock with a Fronkey style bug net - I like the modular aspect as I don’t always need a bug net. I don’t see myself using this so time to let it go. The specs are:
- 10 foot length and 60 inches wide.
- Single layer 1.0 oz Robic-XL, dark olive color.
- Netting is 0.5 noseeum - black
- Asym lay is right side
- Includes continuous loops, ridgeline, UQ hooks and tie out hooks
- This weighs 10.2 oz on my scale, including stuff sack
Dream Hammock no longer offers the Darien in 1.0 Robic-XL and instead uses 1.2 Robic-XL. I don’t know why DH changed to a heavier weight fabric but if your interested you could contact Randy at Dream Hammock and he could probably explain why. I’m a backpacker and wanted the lightest weight possible. I’m also 5’ 8” and slim build.
