Nice trip report guys,it made me feel like I was there. The smells, the food, the company, I could just about reach out from my couch and touch it.
Isnt it always funny when someone else takes an unexpected dip. Sorry niagara.

No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.
Next stew, be it winter or spring: Boeuf Bourguignon. This delicious dish brings back the most wonderful memories of Pen Lake. There may be another dish on another day, but BB is on the menu.

.... my wife sure thought so.. she's been gittin a lot of mileage outta the story too. Actually some of the group was gonna paddle out with us just too see if there would be a repeat performance but they would have been disappointed. I scaled that mountain with the grace of a panther...

Wow i'm just in awe of such stunning views. I adore that country up there and would love to spend a few weeks out paddling and camping and exploring there. I especially love the overcast misty days like in that second picture.

Thanks TiedUp. Time a trip up to Algonquin with one of our hangs and I can almost assure you of a warm bowl of soup and some stunning scenery. I took a lot of pictures of that island but I found that it was very hard to distinguish the island from the mainland given their colour. This on shot, when some cloud and rain passed through was the best of the bunch. Bubba got a great shot of that same moment.

One of these days I will make it. I promise! I just need to subscribe to the planning thread...I always make my plans for Algonquin trips, and then find out after the fact that you guys were in the park at the same time in another place.
I might be up for a Valens hang this year...I’m the proud owner of a new 0*F Lynx underquilt. Want to slowly dip my toe into winter camping...
I had a really nice time again this year. It was especially nice to paddle in with the group on Thursday. Though I would have liked to spend the morning with my feet up and say a proper goodbye, I am certainly glad I left when I did. The wind fought me fiercely on my exit across Canoe Lake. I envied every canoe heading the opposite direction with the wind!
Hope to see y'all at the next one.
PS:
Though it was a pain in the rear to get the hang just right, and I did have a dry bag roll down the hill to plop into the water one and a half times, it was cool to string up down a slope like this. Good coverage but still a great view.
