Sierra Madre New Ninox Hammock launching on Kickstarter

I got an email about an upcoming launch of the new Ninox hammock from Sierra Madre. Boasting a "flat lay" hammock. Not much information in the link but some pictures showing the product.

Looks interesting. Has anyone seen more information on this new hammock?

Looks like they're taking some design cues from popular integrated bug net hammocks -- Dream Hammock, SLD Trail Lair, Dutch Chameleon, etc. I'll be interested to see if there are any other unique features contributing to "flat lay".

My friend got one from Barry (@cajunracer) recently. It’s a symmetrical zippered net style with pullouts on all 4 corners on the net. It also uses a webbing for the SRL which is adjustable. Supposedly it has some special shape for the hammock body, but I don’t know the details on that. It certainly didn’t feel like it had the curved ends or cat cuts of a Streamliner, I can say though. It was just a seemingly flatter lay.

It looks like they are cutting the sides down to remove the excess material. Kind of simulating a Knotty Mod but works with a zipper. It also looks like there is a mod to the bugnet to accommodate the different shape of the hammock body.

You were able to lay in it? What kind of material is it?

Barry said they could make it with any fabric you like that’s sold by RSBTR. The kickstarter might be limited, but time will tell. They do deal with a kind of custom fabric for their other hammocks that isn’t a ripstop and is supposedly like a memory foam in that it stretches after you lay in it for a while. So they may offer that. But it doesn’t come in wide.

It will be interesting to see if it is something unique and special. They do make some nice/unique gear. I have their Inferno 30F set, and both UQ and TQ are unique which seems t lead to a few, at least potential, advantages.

I dunno, but they're spamming the absolute crap out the camping gear subreddit I moderate. 5 posts just today. All with shady referral links from dedicated spam accounts. I wouldn't support the company on the basis alone.

My only issue is I’ve seen several ads/posts which state flattest lay ever. I’ve beem pretty flat in my LSOH Warrior, previously owned ridgerunners, and my towns end bridges. Doubt I can get much flatter, but hey, HYOH.

They are running a referral game— sounds to me like someone abusing it.

Anyways, Kickstarter launched. They’re crediting the shape of the fabric for the “Flattest lay”. I am curious how much that could possibly affect lay.

Very interesting, and it looks like $799 for the 4 season Air Camp gets you what looks like a complete system.
I have only seen a review on their underquilt, and it seemed pretty nice. I don't like all of the disclaimers about their complicated supply chain and potential delays though...
