I'm planning on going to Isle Royale, specifically the Feldtmann Ridgestone Loop in August and I was wondering if anyone can say whether or not they had trouble finding any suitable hammock spots.

Now people have made it work but Isle Royale is renowned for not being hammock friendly. There are several threads on here where people have gone either way yes it sucks, no it was fine. Those going solo seem to have had much better luck. I was a ground dweller at the time so wasn't really looking but wanting to go back as an adult I've looked this up before. Example of a thread:

Once you're lost in twilight's blue, you don't find your way, the way finds you.
Thanks for the response. I'll be going solo so hopefully it works out in my favor. I contacted the Isle Royale forestry service to see what their opinion was. I'll probably bring a small pad just in case.
I have hiked Isle Royal 3 times with hammocks and several more times with tents. Because you are not bound to any campsite nor itinerary, if you can't find a suitable pair of trees from which to hang, move on to the next site. When hiking with my whole family, I occasionally had to hang from less than perfect trees. Bring a second set of tree straps and be creative. When hiking solo or with my oldest, energetically hiking son, I/We hiked until we found perfect the campsite with nice spots to hang.
My IRNP experiences have always been on the North and Eastern parts of the island. I stay off the Greenstone Ridge trail as much as possible and have never hiked the Feldtmann Ridge trail so, your experience on those trails might be different. My personal favorite hike is the Minong Ridge trail - very hammock friendly.
Enjoy your trip!

I did the minong ridge trail 2 years ago. No problems at all finding tree to hang from. You may want to get a permit to allow you to do dispersed camping.
