look up spiguyver backpacking. He has a youtube video to address your question. I have all three hammocks and you can't go wrong with any of them.

I have a Chameleon - which I won at a group hang. It's very comfortable and it's the only hammock my beagle Joey will sleep in (no zipper and he'll escape in a heartbeat).

However, my personal preference is simple, gathered-end hammocks and a Fronkey bugnet. Overall, it's a cheaper setup, and no zippers! I just wish beagle Joey could be trained to stay in a simple, gathered-end hammock. Unfortunately, he's a beagle, and I just don't have the energy to train him to stay inside a simple, gathered-end hammock. I tried it this weekend and it was a colossal wrestling match. He escaped three times. So anytime beagle Joey comes, the zippered Chameleon is coming too.

I have the bugnet for the Chameleon, and when winter comes, I have the topcover. I'm not sure how I feel about top covers - I always assumed they would cause too much condensation and, lo and behold, they do (at least for me). Some folks swear by topcovers, but I'm kind of convinced that they're only viable below 10* F (when it's that cold, you can tolerate a little condensation for a few extra degrees of warmth). Besides, at 10* F, the condensation will probably freeze so it's not as bad as just waking up to a hammock soaked in condensation from your breath.

I have an XLC, Chameleon and a Raven (cousin to the Sparrow)
They are all comfortable, keep bugs out.
Just different features and zippers and such.

    1) Chameleon -- Versatility (Adapts to any situation or changing needs/preferences)

    2) Blackbird XLC -- Function (It does what it does very well)

    3) Sparrow -- Customization (It is a truly custom hammock in every detail)

Here is my review of the Dutchware Chameleon...

Here is my review of the (first-generation) Warbonnet Blackbird XLC...

Unfortunately, I do not have a Dream Hammock Sparrow, and it seems unlikely that I ever will.

That's pretty much a matter of taste - or need. What is important to you? Do you want a specific color or fabric? Are you looking for certain features?

Dream Hammock is unequalled with regards to customization. They seem to have specialized on Ripstopbytheroll's fabrics, so if you wanted a fabric made by Dutch, you'd have to go with the Chameleon.

Dutch is probably the fastest shipper of the three manufacturers. Even if you pick an unusual color combination, they'll probably get your hammock out within a week. The Chameleon also has the most add-ons, if things like that float your boat.

Warbonnet has the footbox and the shelf. I really like both, and miss the shelf especially when I'm using another hammock. I also prefer that the tie-outs are attached to the bug net and not the hammock. This way I can dive under them, and don't need to climb over them. Less danger of tripping. The same design also raises the net farther away from my face.

However, in the end all features are worthless if you cannot get comfortable in the hammock. So the most important decision is not which hammock you pick, but which fabric. And you will have to try different hammocks to find out what suits you best.
