Camping hammock color?

We do a lot of kayak/camping,, sleeping in hammocks exclusively for the last 12 years.
We hit the mountain rivers of VA and WV for 2-3 day river fishing trips, pulling off in National forest area for the night.

I am going to buy a new Blackbird, and really like the international orange color,, but the weird "self preservation" instinct is in the back of my mind saying "Get the camo, the drunkin hillbillies wont be able to see you a mile away"

Get a camo underquilt protector and a camo tarp to hide the orange hammock when your spidey sense is tingling. Or buy two hammocks...

I always wondered why people get camo for their hammock and/or tarps. I assume they're not hunting from their hammocks, so then is the goal to be hidden from other people? My biggest worry while camping dispersed is being mistaken for a deer by a hunter so I'd want to be as bright as possible.

Some of us camp when/where hunting is prohibited and just appreciate all the advantages of a low signature.

I don’t do camo but always liked foliage or earth tones. I like to be as muted as possible.

I am away from camp most of the day so I prefer muted earth color so my camp can’t be seen as easily.

Just remember that bears are attracted to bright colors

or "rump humped" by a hillbilly ??
