Using sticks as toggles at tarp might let stick puncture tarp
Here is another way
Using same cord, maybe a bit longer, do not make a fisherman’s loop—no loop at all
Double cord and apply prusik to tarp ridgeline
Now you will have two equal length cords extending below prusik
Put one cord through tarp loop or grommet
Hold both cords together in hand and tie a slip knot with both at same time
For peace of mind add a couple daisy chain
or monkey braids
To remove when breaking camp, just pull loose ends and tarp is released
As promised dutchware at it's finest.
Don't mind the ugly splice as it probably won't last - DynaGLIDE does work and is only listed at 1.8mm but it is tight. I am more than slightly concerned once the wasp is put under load - I am not certain if I will be able to release it - any body have any experience with this stuff and dutchware Dutch hook, tato tarp attachment clips and more specifically Dutch wasp?

A good trick to getting the cord out from the antennas is to get it out of the mouth (hook) first. This requires a little bit of slack or give though. Your tarp ridgelines don’t need to be extra taut because the stakes and ground tie-outs will pull out any slack there may be.

I love that guy. His video aesthetic and his overall attitude are as awesome as his information.

I think his stuff is pretty good too - I plan on attempting a set up in 2 min or less like he talks about in a rain storm. I also agree with him that this is about the total amount of time you can mess around before you are totally soaked in a typically storm that we see here in Western States.

That is always fun to practice. The real test of a pro is to sleep under the stars with a only your CRL rigged up and be able to wake up when it starts to rain and get covered before you get too wet to dry out by morning! It’s a lot easier in the summer when you don’t need to use any quilts though! Just sleep with a CCF pad and your rain coat as a blanket. And it would be best to do it when car camping to serve as an emergency shelter. I tried this out on my last camp trip! It wasn’t supposed to rain, but proceeded to pour right at 4 AM.
I have practiced setting up my K.I.S.S. 2.0 tarp with my Dutch CRL (Whoopie Hook and Wasp with Prusik loops) using the CC methods, and it works great; the bling is cheating, but it definitely helps you shave set-up time down close to two minutes, and as lightweight hammock gear I'm carrying anyway in the summer months it makes for a great hasty shelter on the trail in addition to the other possible configurations...

Very nice indeed!! And yes I will be cheating but the dynaGLIDE wouldn't hold a knot and I bought like 100' so...............
I did what any Dutchware Anonymous Member would do - Promptly dropped $40 in the hopes of setting up a tarp in about 2 minutes in a heavy rain storm.
