Tarp Ridgeline Needs Update - Ideas?

Hey all! I'm working my way through a conundrum before my next trip in June. I've been using a simple line/tarp system for over my hammock for a while. I've got a 10x10 BPWD tarp, which is fine, and I just throw it over some NiteIze glow line. Works alright, but I've been thinking that I could make it a bit quicker to set up and easier for the hammock.

There are just so many options out there! I'm a DIY guy, so making up a new ridgeline with Dutch hardware doesn't scare me. I love my whoopie hooks.

What advice do you have? Thanks!

If if if you are not in a hurry, browse Hammock Forums threads on suspensions and ridgelines.
And watch a few YouTube videos, just a few.
And check with two or three vendors to see what they have. And right before final decision, go to a group hang to see what kind of spider webs are holding up their tarps. Maybe some hands on rigging tarps at a hang, will yield good ideas.

I’d go for Ease OF Use, easy set up, easy quick adjustments, and easy to take down while packing.

And I’d avoid any loose small parts that I’d probably lose or misplace. Everything stuck on suspension, no rummaging through pack looking for a small part that may or may not be there.

    YMMV and HYOH

I'm kind of partial to NAMA Claws.

I use a continuous tarp ridgeline with a micro binner on one end, a Dutch Wasp on the other and a pair of NAMA Claws in the middle. Fast and easy to set up.

As much as I liked the wasp, I often found it difficult to undo, sometimes requiring pliers.
My current set up is a CRL consisting of 33 feet of Lash-It, 1 Loop Alien fixed and 1 adjustable with 2 NAMA Claws in between Easy to achieve a tight line and a tight tarp.

You don't say? Well, since I'm staring to experiment with hanging tarps below a continuous ridgeline, and that looks like a nice solution to the main remaining issue I haven't found a great way to handle with various DutchWare Bling (Tarp Flyz, Wasps, and Fleaz, oh my), guess I'll have to try some! The Tato Tarp connectors are interesting, but it looks like the Claws would work similarly if you just add some shock cord and toggles?

Are you using this with straps, or just wrapping the ridgeline around a tree? With a Wasp for the adjustable side, do you find any advantages using the 'biner instead of a simple Dutch Hook?

For a heaver load like the main tarp ridgline, I find Tarp Flyz easier to use than Wasps and it seems like they'd be less prone to getting "stuck" ? (although I haven't used either enough to run into that problem)

So far the only thing I've needed pliers for when dealing with hammock and tarp suspension was when I started making my own Whoopie slings and missed the part about tapering your ends before splicing.

I prefer to connect them directly to my tarp with a snap ring. Shock cord is not strong enough in my book for how tight I prefer to get my ridgeline. However, if you like shock cord, you could just use the loop of shock cord connected to your tarp and hook it right on the NAMA Claw. No toggle needed.

I was tired of Prussic knots in the cold and bought the Claws. Liked how easy they are to use. Definitely not for gram weenies, but well worth their weight to me. Contrybois, just like you I hook it directly to the hook. What I didn’t care for is the way it can fall off when loose setting up. I need to do a change to secure the tarp to the claw. Now the easy part is being able to quickly move the suspension to another tarp. I am sold and also recommend them.
