Hello from Salt Lake City, UT

Hey all, created an account a year or so ago (mostly to see the post pics) and until just recently have been an intermittent lurker. Figured an intro is long over due.

I've been doing more multi-day backpacking in the last 3-4 years. Tried a hammock on a whim (mostly because that's what all the cool kids seem to be doing) and found I could actually sleep through the night while camping. Game changer. Also caught the MYOG bug and bought a sewing machine a couple weeks ago. Made me a 11' hammock and a Fronkey Bugnet. Next up a cat-cut tarp.

Looking forward to contributing and learning.

Howdy from another Utahn. Using a hammock for camping is a game changer for sure. The DIY/MYOG stuff is a curse, get out while you still can.

Welcome from a Davis County hanger. The tarps are fun and rewarding to sleep under.

    Welcome from Georgia!
I’m jealous of your backyard! Zion and Bryce are totally awesome! Arches and Moab are out of this world! Northern Utah is beautiful with the mountains. Then Wyoming and Colorado!
Can’t wait to see your posts!

Sounds like you are already well down the trail...multi-day treks and making your own gear? Good on you!

I love Utah in the winter, a buddy has been coaxing me to move out that way...I need to visit in the summer and figure out how to hang a hammock amongst the rocks.

    Welcome from New Hampshire!
