Well we had a beautiful weekend up there, the rain held off on Sunday until after we left. As for the trails all I can report back on is the middlefork trail as we just did an in and out(I was checking the trail for a future Scout trip). It was fine, you will have several water crossings and some rocky areas but no real problems. As the leaves are still off the views are pretty good and from all the rain the creeks are running good making for some nice waterfalls and such.
You'll have no problems finding camp for tent and hammock as there are quite a few along that trail.
I did talk briefly with a fellow that did the N/S - Laurelly - middlefork and he said Laurelly was pretty muddy but that was about it.
