I am planning to go to yellowstone the first week of june and stay at Canyon Campground and cannot find any info if hammock camping is allowed here? If anyone knows and has any info on this I appreciate it. Thanks

You can do it at the campground. I haven't seen anyone who was warned or fired by hanging there.
Hammock camping is allowed in YNP campgrounds (and the backcountry with permits). The caveat is that some of the campgrounds do not have sufficient tree coverage to hang from.
Although I haven't stayed there, I *think* Canyon campground has pretty good tree coverage, and should be okay for hammocks. I have stayed at Grant Village and Madison campgrounds, and those have sufficient trees for hammocks. However, even within those campgrounds, there is always the weird campsite that would present a challenge for hanging.
EDIT: Bridge Bay campground is specifically one that does not have sufficient trees for hanging. So avoid that campground if your intent is to use hammocks.
EDIT #2: Sorry, I just saw the OP posted this in Feb 2018, asking about a trip in June. Hope it all worked out.
