So last week I met with my amazingly awesome RBTR team. Now it's easy to miss because I (hi I'm Kyle btw) write most of these posts, but the team at RBTR is the real orange behind the juice. These are the guys and gals filling your orders with lightning speed, walking you through that hammock build, and threatening to burn down USPS if they don't find your package.
We laid out some pretty cool plans for 2018 plus ideas on how to get there. But after staring at the whiteboard for a few minutes, we quickly realized that unless we invent 32 hour days, it's time to do some hiring!
We've always had great luck posting in HF, so I figured we'd try it again. Without further adieu, the first position we're immediately hiring for is a Fabric Laser Specialist.
In short, the Fabric Laser Specialist will run our in-house, wide-format textile laser cutter. What's a textile laser cutter? Well, it's kinda like a big table that cuts fabrics or other materials with a beam of light. Upload a shape or drawing, apply your settings, and BAM - the machine cuts it.
We spent over 18 months custom building this cutter just for us and it's one of the largest textile specific laser cutters in the country. If it were a car, it would be a Ferrari. If you're a visual person, here are a couple videos to whet the appetite.

We use the cutter for many different things, so each day would be a bit different, but core tasks would include:
- Organizing, scheduling, and running contract cut jobs
- Cutting Fabric samples for customer orders
- Cutting DIY Kits and product patterns
In addition to these core tasks, additional responsibilities could include:
- Use of CAD software for cut file creation
- Generating price quotes for contract cut jobs
- Interfacing with other company depts
- Packaging and shipping of finished orders
- General maintenance on the laser cutter
A successful candidate need not have direct experience with textile laser cutting or any type of laser cutting. However, there are a few requirements, the most important of which are that you be:
- Detail orientated
- Driven to do a AMAZING job no matter the task
- Ability to problem solve on your own
Other desired skills include basic math/trigonometry, familiarity with CAD and photo editing software (Adobe Illustrator, Sketch-Up, etc), and/or customer service experience. We can train and teach most anything required, provided you're willing to learn .
Pay starts at $12 /hr

If this sounds like you, please send a resume and brief bio to [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you all and finding the next member of our growing team here at RBTR!!!
Thanks,
