Welcome from So. MD by way of NY originally (Westchester Co.) You can't go wrong with DIY options, A good hanging friend of mine is a DIY hobbyist, and you could make a lot of friends if you go to one of the larger hangs this coming Spring (MAHHA or Mid Atlantic Hammock Hangers Association) is having a hoe down in April and you can get to try out other folks rigs, and meet DIYers to make you gear. Look up my friend, Wanderlost. He has made me some fine gear at a great price compared to other vendors. You may also find great deals on the for sale section of this forum to save $$ on lightly used gear from people that are upgrading or swapping gear to fund other acquisitions. You have som many options with gear as a new hammock enthusiast. This forum is quite friendly and folks will help in any way they can with advice and other info to help you make the most enjoyment of this great past time we call hammock camping.
